Kificho's legacy: Will the Zanzibar rep. deliver a solid #Katiba team?

As Constituent Assembly members collect their second paycheck today, Tanzanians look to the seat of power in Dodoma to get a sense of the direction in which the 629-strong army currently cast in the thick of the Katiba-making process will be taking them.
Zanzibar House of Representatives Speaker, Mr Pandu Ameir Kificho who was elected interim chairman yesterday, is expected to preside over the creation of standing orders that will form the basis for the running of assembly business – and effectively determine how quickly 45 million Tanzanians will get their much-needed Katiba.
The Zanzibar House of Representatives Speaker received 393 votes, equivalent to 69.19 per cent of the 568 votes cast yesterday, beating out Prof Costa Rick Mahalu who managed a paltry 84 votes - about 14.79 per cent of total votes cast - and Ms Magdalena Rwebangira who received a similar number of votes.
