HEALTHY:Maintaining a healthy work- family balance

With paper chasing these days, balancing work and family seems to be hard. Especially if you have children, it’s very hard to meet their physical needs throughout the day. Some ideas on how you can balance the two.
It is important that both parents are happy with the tasks that they have to do in the home. When you have to do some tasks together, you have a time to bond. Funny thing is most parents just leave all the tasks to house girls.
You need to focus on the task at hand whether you are at work or home. This can be vital to balance work and life when both – husband and wife are working professionals. It makes them avoid thinking about the family while at work or work while at home with the family. Take driving time to adjust “from being an employee to a parent and spouse.
When you have had a stressful day, often remind yourself to leave work at work and enjoy being at home.
Evaluate your home and work situations. Does your work schedule allow you time with your family? Do you have time to relax every day? Do you find yourself constantly thinking about work? Do you have enough energy to be a good parent when you are home? Depending upon how you answered the questions you may need to re-evaluate your work situation.
You have to tell yourself that it is more important that your family is happy and that you spend time together than that your house is filled with all luxuries and goods.
This is very important because when you even chase the money harder, you also need people close to you to spend it with. What if you don’t have a good relationship just because you did not have time for your family? It is very important to have good relationships and have time for each other in the family. After all when you look back on your life, you will probably measure your success by your family rather than your job.
